The debate on national health care reform seems to be missing one important perspective….that of the physician. To address this oversight, we are working feverishly to form a new physicians' organization to insure that our voice is heard. Why do we need a new organization? Simply, because other more established organizations have not actively sought our input nor have they represented what we believe to be the critical issues for reasonable, workable health care reform.

We write today to ask you to join our new organization. ARdocsCare is an organization of concerned physicians committed to the establishment of a health care system that preserves the sanctity of the doctor-patient relationship, promotes quality of care, supports affordable access to all Americans, and protects patients' freedom of choice.

It is imperative you act quickly to join ARdocsCare; we may only have weeks to inject our voice into the debate. Health care reform bills are moving through the House and Senate as we write. As you may be aware, members of the Arkansas congressional delegation are key players in health care reform. Senator Lincoln sits on the powerful Senate Finance Committee, which is writing a bill. Congressman Ross serves on the House Energy & Commerce Committee, which is also working on health care legislation.

Additionally, Congressman Ross has been tapped to be the leader of health care reform in the influential Blue Dog Coalition. The other members of the delegation will also lend important voices to the debate. We in Arkansas are in a strong position to help shape national health care reform. With your support, ARdocsCare will be a strong and clear voice for sensible reform. The principles we support are included in this package.

To be successful we need your participation and your financial support. Would you be willing to consider partnering with ARdocsCare with a contribution of $2,500, $1,000, $500 or any other amount? Your gift will allow us to:

  • have the necessary tools to communicate with our congressional delegation
  • develop a website that gives information on the new organization and provides tools for doctors to use in communicating with policy makers
  • recruit additional physicians to join the organization
  • publicize our message to our delegation as well as other physicians and the greater public

We cannot emphasize enough the importance of having substantial financial support as soon as possible in order to make an impact on the current health care debate.

We also want to know what you think; we have included a healthcare questionnaire as we are very interested in getting your input on some of the key proposed reforms. Would you please take a moment to fill out the survey as well as the response form enclosed in this letter? You can return via email to support@ardocscare.org or in the reply envelope provided.

Please consider joining our efforts to relay Arkansas physicians' concerns regarding national health care reform to the Arkansas congressional delegation before it's too late. Your timely attention to this matter, and your consideration of financial support are greatly appreciated.
